Julie's California Blog - Day 17

Julie's California Blog - Day 17, Tuesday, April 16th

Fresh Folks today.  Sharon arrived from Tampa so the activity level picked up immensely as has security at LAX.  There were 4 police cars parked at the incoming lanes to LAX checking cars as they entered the airport area.  I quickly found Sharon curbside and we got out of there.

We began our day with a tasty lunch in Manhattan Beach at Rock N Fish.  Manhattan Beach is a charming little community with lots of extraordinary restaurants and boutiques.  It's probably most famous for it's beach volleyball, the most notable the Manhattan Beach Open - Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball.  Each year, the tournament winners' names are placed on a large bronze medallion and permanently positioned on the pier similar to the stars placed on the sidewalk of Hollywood Boulevard's "Walk of Fame.".  We saw at least 4 medals with Olympic superstars Misty May and Kerri Walsh.

After lunch and getting Sharon settled in the condo, we spent a quiet afternoon catching up.   We walked the pups to the Pier for dinner at American Junkie.  It was kind of a slow evening at the pier.  Perhaps because the winds have picked up again, sustained at 20 - 30 miles per hour.  But the shrimp tacos and $3.00 wine were delicious and we had a beautiful sunset.
