We docked in Napier, New Zealand this morning. Today is another golf day. We're off to Cape Kidnappers, so named because Captain Cook and his crew were kidnapped by the Maori people. Captain Cook was able to trade his life for ammunition and guns, but not in time to save his all of his men. Many of his men were invited to dinner ... and they WERE the dinner.

The is course located on 6000 acres of working farm, with Angus cows grazing around the greens. Beautifully situated along a coast line of rocky cliffs overlooking crystal clear blue water and although a bit windy ... well, ok ... a LOT windy, Cape Kidnappers has now jumped into top position for the most spectacular golf course I've ever played. We enjoyed playing again with Muffy and Don.
Tee Box on Hole Number 16. Very windy. |
We arrived back to the Mariner just in time to cast off heading to Picton, New Zealand.
We met Gail and Bruce for cocktails and dinner and turned in early.
We have three days at sea coming up. Crossing the Tasman Sea again. Whoopee!! Hopefully, I'll get a chance to catch up, since I'll have some spare time to sit and wait on the internet! Unbelievable! For those of you considering a cruise, I cannot recommend Regent. For several reasons, which I'd be happy to share with anyone who may be interested. But for now ... I'm going to hit the "post" button to get today's blog posted.
